As you know, for 2020, I am committed to supporting RAHAB Ministries and their wonderful cause to help end human trafficking in our community. On January 9th, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost hosted his inaugural Human Trafficking Summit to provide education and resources to help combat and end human trafficking. The summit provided an opportunity for attendees to learn what other areas of the state are doing, as well as the role of other disciplines throughout the state. It helped identify gaps in service and roadblocks that exist for investigators, advocates and victims.
RAHAB was honored to be asked by the Attorney General to present a workshop on The Story of RAHAB. The staff provided an overview of how a one-woman movement turned into an incredible continuum of services for those impacted by sexual trafficking.
How has RAHAB been a support to those in need in our community who have been impacted by this horrible epidemic?
In 2007, RAHAB opened in the Drop-In Center in Akron, OH for women who were broken, hopeless and vulnerable.
In 2019 alone, 49 children were mentored, 660 women served at the Akron Drop-In Center and 36 women and children lived in RAHAB's regional safe houses.
So how can you make a difference with me? You can refer your friends and family who want to make a move this year to my team and a portion of your referral will go to support RAHAB and their incredible mission. Together, we can help RAHAB in their ongoing mission of love, support, hope, and giving.
Much appreciation,
Melissa Hackenberg
